Music's Biggest Night, But No Barry

Watched the Grammys last night (and loved it), but could not stop wishing that our guy could get some of that spotlight.

He is an incredible performer, musician, arranger, and songwriter ... and every one knows him. But on Music's biggest night he goes unmentioned. Not just this year, but most years. That saddens me.

I know he has had his moment; I know his albums are no longer chart climbers (for the most part), I know that without a duo with someone hot, there is probably little chance we will see him here again..

But I just wish he would be recognized again.

He should get the Musicares Person of the Year for The Manilow Music Project.

Maybe we shouldn’t bemoan the passing of Barry’s day in the sun.

Maybe we should just be thankful he got to have one at all. :-)

And maybe Time will forget him, but we will remember.

I wouldn't be sad about it. In order for him to win an award he has to produce something. Personally, I think he could produce a symphonic version of his music - after all, he's also a great composer. I don't know if the Grammys award that sort of work, but if it's good I'm sure there's some type award out there.
