I'd like another Night Songs. I was familiar with a couple of the songs on the first one, but not all of them.
I saw an interview he did in the past couple of years in which he talked about liking Clap Tone (who I'd never heard of, but now really like). I think it would be cool if he'd experiment. He likes that genre, why not make his own?

Maybe I am wrong Angela, but I get the feeling that Barry wants to complete this CD as quickly as possible and perhaps one of the reasons he wants to do another Night Songs CD is that Barry sings alone with his piano on his Night Songs CD, singing more well known Great American Songbook standards from the 1940s (the era Barry seems to love the most). Barry neither has to make new arrangements or hire a lot of musicians on the songs, so it saves a lot of time to complete the CD.
While I am aware that many fans prefer Barry to compose original arrangements or original songs and being accompanied by his band, at least in the format of Barry alone playing the piano, his voice is highlighted and the result is a song that captures your attention more because you hear the lyrics better with just Barry's voice and piano.
The Night Songs CD sounds like Barry being "unplugged", much like he did in his CD of The Greatest Songs of the 70s in which he sang some of his hit songs alone on the piano and that approach really highlighted the lyrics for me. So, it looks likely that the new Night Sounds will be suited for those that like Barry "unplugged". Marvin
