19. I Write the Songs

20. Copacabana

21. It’s a Miracle (Reprise)

He’s hardly off the stage except to change jackets, even then it's straight off and on again. The longest time is the first verse of the midnight special video of Mandy. He doesn’t talk much between songs - there’s a bit of the Grandpa Joe story and a bit about how he started writing jingles. Music plays non-stop even between songs and under dialogue. He doesn't fill-in the songs with the back-ups singing or lengthy music sections or dialogue. The lighting is bright, effective and very animated. Sound is loud for a theater. Show length is about 1 hr 45 mins and well paced, unlike some shows where he seems to be rushing. Audience lively and appreciative.

Thank you, Blintzy, for posting this. Wish I could attend this show! The set list is impressive. I am especially fond of the CIBM slow-into-fast version.

How big is the theater?

Best,
Annie

We also got "Lay Me Down" at last Sunday's show. It was fabulous. The best, and funniest, part was Barry singing a wrong line during the first verse. He stopped, mumbled "What the fuck?" and asked Ron what the lyric was. He couldn't hear Ron, so the audience started telling him the next lines. He laughed, and said moments like that were a signal that his career was over. It was a great unscripted moment.

I hardly ever take any video at shows (I prefer photos, and who has time to watch it all?), but I did catch this gem. I'd share, but don't want to get virtually tasered by HC&T for a copyright infringement.

That was a gem of a moment Amy! I loved it. I am sure he didn’t though. It’s just one of those very human moments and further proof the man sings live.

Also- he was singing Lay Me Down and Keep Each Other Warm during the first few shows. I think he dropped KEOW first and then LMD. But I heard he sang the full version of It’s A Miracle last night.

So it seems to me he is changing things up here and there and he is moving towards a more upbeat show. Although it is pretty darn upbeat now.

I absolutely am loving this run.

I forgot about Keep Each Other Warm...that was a nice surprise. And the semi-studio version of It's A Miracle was great, too; I've always preferred that version and enjoyed hearing it in the middle of the show instead of as the opening.

And I love, love, love the medley...it's just fabulous. Just as Mandy ended, I expected IWTS to start (and "the show is almost over" depression to begin) and *boom* he throws us a curve ball with One Voice and the medley. Wow.

Thoroughly loving what he's doing in NY. Would love even more if he brought some of this magic (and changes) back to Vegas with him.

Amy

P.S. Speaking of Vegas - given the Harmony news, I can't help but wonder if October will be the end of his Vegas run. Certainly hope not!

Let me add my $0.02.

Wow.

Almost 2 hours, no intermission. First time I remember him toweling down from sweating. Sounds phenomenal. Hope this show either goes to Vegas or ends up on a DVD.

The opening is UNreal. Would love to get just that on video.

Vicki ..... excited AF about show #2 tomorrow !!!

So nice to hear he's capable of a slip up. As weird as that sounds, its kind of nice to see him make a mistake. When I saw him in Vegas in July 2018 he flubbed a lyric. It was a nano-second of a mistake, he had skipped a word or something super minor, but I caught it and slapped my mother in shock! I've seem him a few times and that was the only time there was even the slightest idea of an error. It was refreshing. The unscripted was nice.

so, Amy if that video clip happens to end up in my email box I'm not going to be offended in the least!
