Like Sharon posted, the twitter is based on the subjective opinion of the authors of what is an annoying song, nothing to be taken seriously.
I happen to like "MacArthur Park" by the way, though not for the lyrics. The melody hits you hard with many chord changes and the song is a challenge for many singers because of the wide vocal range as written by the composer. Marvin

But that cake-out-in-the-rain line has to be the worst lyric ever written ever ... except for that shitty lamppost nonsense in that horrible cat song.
